Miscellaneous:
According to my data, Auburn's drop from #6 to #18 after a win is the largest in the last eight seasons (I only have full poll/season game scores back to 2008 at this time). Largest previous drops in that period were Nebraska dropping from #19 to NR after coming back to beat McNeese State 31-24 at home in the 9/7/2014 poll, and North Carolina dropping from #19 to #24 after winning 12-10 at Connecticut in the 9/13/2009 poll.

Others from prior to 2008 that I do have in my database (for teams that remained ranked):

- Clemson dropped from #19 to #24 in 9/5/2004 poll after beatng Wake Forest 37-30 (2OT) at home. (added from AP story)
- Oklahoma dropped from #10 to #15 in the 9/5/2006 poll after beating UAB 24-17 at home.
- South Carolina dropped from #14 to #20 in the 9/21/1959 poll after beating Duke 12-7 at home.
- Cornell dropped from #9 to #16 in the 10/2/1950 poll after beating Lafayette 27-0 at home.
- Holy Cross dropped from #12 to #19 in the 10/15/1945 poll after beating Villanova 26-7 at home.
